Welcome to Bareera Academy. These Terms of Service outline the rules and guidelines for using our online Islamic education platform. We've written them to be clear and easy to understand.

1. Introduction & Acceptance
Bareera Academy ("we," "us," or "our") is an online educational platform dedicated to teaching Quran, Arabic language, and Islamic Studies to students worldwide. Our mission is to make authentic Islamic education accessible to non-native speakers through personalized, one-on-one and group instruction.
By creating an account, enrolling in courses, or using any of our services, you ("student," "parent," "guardian," or "user") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are enrolling a minor (under 18 years of age), you accept these terms on their behalf and take full responsibility for their compliance.
Please read these terms carefully. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you should not use our services. We reserve the right to update these terms, and we will notify you of significant changes via email.
2. Eligibility & Age Requirements
Who Can Enroll
- Adults (18+): You may create an account and enroll independently.
- Minors (Under 18):A parent or legal guardian must create the account, agree to these terms, and maintain responsibility for the student's participation.
- Children (Under 13): Special parental consent is required. A parent must be present or available during lessons for students under 7 years of age.
Account Responsibility
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
- You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
- One account per student—sharing accounts is not permitted.
3. Our Services
Bareera Academy provides the following educational services:
1-on-1 Lessons
Personalized individual instruction with a dedicated teacher
Group Classes
Small group sessions (2-4 students) for collaborative learning
Quran Studies
Recitation, Tajweed, memorization (Hifz), and Tafseer
Arabic Language
Classical Arabic, Quranic vocabulary, and conversational skills
Islamic Studies
Aqeedah, Fiqh, Seerah, and Islamic history
Progress Tracking
Regular assessments and progress reports for students
Service Delivery
- All lessons are conducted online via Zoom or our designated video platform.
- Lesson schedules are arranged between students and teachers based on mutual availability.
- We strive to match students with suitable teachers, but teacher assignments may change.
- Lesson materials and resources are provided digitally through our platform.
Technical Requirements
- A stable internet connection (minimum 5 Mbps recommended)
- A device with webcam and microphone (computer, tablet, or smartphone)
- Zoom application installed and updated to the latest version
- A quiet, well-lit environment free from distractions
4. Payments & Billing
Billing Cycle
28-Day Billing Cycle: Bareera Academy operates on a 28-day billing cycle (not calendar month). Your billing date is set based on your enrollment date, and invoices are generated automatically every 28 days.
Payment Methods
We accept the following payment methods:
- Credit/Debit Cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express (via Stripe)
- PayPal: Secure payments through your PayPal account
- Bank Transfer: Direct bank transfers (for select regions)
Automatic Payments
- By enrolling, you authorize us to charge your payment method automatically each billing cycle.
- Invoices are sent via email 3-5 days before the payment due date.
- You may update your payment method at any time through your account settings.
- Failed payments will trigger a reminder, and services may be paused after 7 days.
Late Payments
- Grace Period: A 7-day grace period is provided for late payments.
- Service Suspension: Lessons will be paused if payment is not received within 7 days.
- Account Restoration: Services resume immediately upon payment of outstanding balance.
- No Late Fees: We do not charge late fees, but repeated late payments may affect enrollment.
Plan Changes
- Upgrades: You may upgrade your plan at any time. The new rate will be prorated for the remaining billing cycle.
- Downgrades: Plan downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. No refunds are provided for the current cycle.
Refund Policy
- Satisfaction Guarantee: If you are not satisfied within the first week of paid enrollment, we offer a full refund—no questions asked.
- Unused Lessons: Refunds for unused lessons are provided on a prorated basis if you cancel mid-cycle with at least 7 days notice.
- Completed Lessons: No refunds are available for lessons already conducted.
- Processing Time: Approved refunds are processed within 5-10 business days.
5. Session Cancellation & Rescheduling
Cancellation by Students
- 24-Hour Notice: Please notify us at least 24 hours before your scheduled lesson to cancel or reschedule.
- Late Cancellation: Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may result in the lesson being marked as completed (forfeited).
- Emergency Allowance: We allow up to 2 emergency cancellations per month without penalty for genuine emergencies.
- No-Shows: If you do not attend a scheduled lesson without notice, the lesson will be forfeited.
Cancellation by Teachers
- If a teacher cannot attend a scheduled lesson, we will notify you as soon as possible.
- Missed lessons due to teacher unavailability will be rescheduled at no additional cost.
- If scheduling a makeup is not possible, the lesson will be credited to your account.
Rescheduling
- Rescheduling requests should be made at least 24 hours in advance.
- Rescheduled lessons must be completed within the same billing cycle when possible.
- Contact your teacher directly or our support team to arrange rescheduling.
Vacation Policy
We understand that families need breaks. Our vacation policy allows flexibility:
- Vacation Hold: You may pause your enrollment for up to 4 weeks per year.
- Advance Notice: Please request vacation holds at least 7 days in advance.
- Billing Pause: Billing is paused during approved vacation holds.
- Extended Breaks: For breaks longer than 4 weeks, please contact us to discuss options.
6. Code of Conduct & Islamic Values
Bareera Academy is founded on Islamic principles. All members of our community—students, parents, and teachers—are expected to uphold these values in their interactions.
Islamic Conduct Policy
- Respect & Adab: Treat teachers, staff, and fellow students with respect and Islamic manners (adab).
- Appropriate Dress: Dress modestly during video lessons, in accordance with Islamic guidelines.
- Appropriate Language: Use clean, respectful language at all times. Profanity, insults, or inappropriate discussions are not tolerated.
- Learning Environment: Maintain a focused, distraction-free environment during lessons.
Acceptable Use Policy
You agree NOT to:
- Share, distribute, or sell any course materials without written permission.
- Record lessons without explicit consent from the teacher and Bareera Academy.
- Use our platform for any purpose other than educational activities.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts.
- Engage in any activity that violates Islamic principles or local laws.
- Harass, bully, or discriminate against any member of our community.
Consequences of Violations
Violations of our conduct policy may result in warnings, suspension of lessons, or permanent termination of enrollment without refund. Serious violations may be reported to appropriate authorities.
7. Privacy & Data Protection
Information We Collect
- Personal Information: Name, email, phone number, and address for enrollment.
- Student Information: Age, learning goals, and progress data.
- Payment Information: Processed securely through Stripe/PayPal—we do not store card details.
- Usage Data: Login times, lesson attendance, and platform interaction for service improvement.
How We Use Your Data
- To provide and improve our educational services.
- To communicate about lessons, schedules, and important updates.
- To process payments and send invoices.
- To send progress reports and learning recommendations.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Data Sharing
- We NEVER sell your personal information to third parties.
- We share data only with service providers necessary for operations (payment processors, video platforms).
- Teachers have access only to information necessary for instruction.
Your Rights
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data at any time.
- Correction: Request corrections to inaccurate information.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Portability: Receive your data in a portable format.
Communications
- Essential Communications: Emails about your account, lessons, and payments are required for service delivery.
- SMS Notifications: We may send lesson reminders via SMS with your consent. You may opt out at any time.
- Marketing: Promotional emails are optional. Unsubscribe anytime via the link in emails.
8. Intellectual Property
- All course materials, curricula, lesson plans, and content provided by Bareera Academy are our intellectual property or licensed to us.
- You are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use materials for personal educational purposes only.
- You may not copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our materials without written permission.
- The Bareera Academy name, logo, and branding are trademarks and may not be used without authorization.
- Quranic text and authentic Islamic knowledge belong to the Ummah—our presentation and organization of educational content is what we protect.
9. Account Termination & Closure
Voluntary Closure
- You may close your account at any time by contacting our support team.
- Please provide at least 7 days notice before your next billing date to avoid charges.
- Unused lessons in your current billing cycle may be refunded on a prorated basis.
- Upon closure, your access to the platform and materials will be revoked.
Termination by Bareera Academy
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for:
- Violation of these Terms of Service
- Non-payment after repeated notices
- Conduct that harms our community or reputation
- Fraudulent activity or misrepresentation
After Termination
- You may request a copy of your learning records within 30 days of closure.
- Personal data will be retained as required by law, then deleted.
- You may re-enroll in the future, subject to approval.
10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
Service Disclaimer
- Our services are provided "as is" and "as available." We strive for excellence but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
- Learning outcomes depend on student effort, consistency, and individual factors beyond our control.
- We are not responsible for technical issues on your end (internet, device, etc.).
Limitation of Liability
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bareera Academy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of our services.
- Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, or otherwise).
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bareera Academy, its teachers, staff, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these terms or misuse of our services.
11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
- Informal Resolution: Before pursuing formal action, you agree to contact us and attempt to resolve any dispute informally for at least 30 days.
- Arbitration: Any unresolved disputes shall be settled through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
- Class Action Waiver: You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits.
- Exceptions: Either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations or urgent matters.
